Get your brush wet and learn how to make beautiful washes on white paper to take advantage of watercolor’s sparkling color.
Watercolor Supply List:
Palette-One with several wells for mixing and a lid is nice but whatever you have
Paper towels
Small spray bottle, water container
Pencil and eraser–soft B range pencil, kneaded or clean-erasing eraser, small sketchbook
Paints –tube colors are best. Cool and warm of primary colors:
- Red –Alizarin Crimson (cool), Cadmium Red Light or Vermillion (warm)
- Blue -Ultramarine (warm)Thalo, Cerulean or Cadmium (cool)
- Yellow –Lemon or Hansa (cool), Cadmium Medium or New Gamboge (warm)
- Yellow Ochre or Raw Sienna and Burnt Sienna
- Brushes–soft watercolor brushes, a few round and flat of different sizes (you will decide which you most like to work with. A small brush (called a rigger) or a small one with a good point up to larger sizes. A large full-bellied brush that holds lots of water and has a good point is versatile and fun to work with.
- Paper-a watercolor pad at least 9 x 12 or larger.
