Plein Air Norcross
Painting outside offers us many choices to learn and improve our skills. W
e will observe and discuss the scene with the focus on design, shapes and values to create a pleasing composition. We will keep the painting process simple using a limited palette.
Material List:
(Bring what you already have.)
Brushes: Long handle Bristle Flats and/or Filberts. Sizes #8, 6, 4, 2. Short or long handle Synthetic Flat Brushes sizes #6, 4. Palette Knife.
Paints: Titanium White, Cad Yellow Light, Cad Red Medium, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson, Cerulean Blue, Ultramarine Blue and Viridian.
Canvas Panel: Centurion Universal Acrylic Primed Linen Panels. Bring several panels.
Gamsol and Turp jar, Gamblin Solvent Free Gel, Paper towels, Baby wipes, Trash bag.
Portable Easel or Pochade Box.
Sketch book, Pencil, Hat, Sunscreen, Bug spray. Water to drink.
Your Instructor
Andrea Kindl is an Atlanta-area artist who is focused on still life, portrait, figure painting and landscape in oils. A versatile artist, she also works in gouache, acrylic, and watercolor as well as various drawing mediums. Andrea is passionate about capturing and conveying the mood inherent within her surroundings. She achieves this by eliciting and expressing extraordinary elements within ordinary, everyday scenes. Her work is characteristically serene and light-filled, yet colorful.
