Artist bio

My work can be divided into 4 groups.

The first are images that speak to issues of the day (political, human rights ....) These are done in a wide variety of media (photo transfer onto glass, cut-out life size human 'puppets' for example. Writing and/or poetry often serve as a foundation to these images.

The second is experimental in nature, mixed media of cut and sewn canvas, collage fabric, stamping and surface design to create backgrounds for human gesture ink drawings.

Thirdly, are my pastels, while I tend to focus on landscape I do experiment with other imagery sources and techniques.

Lastly, I have begun exploration in the medium of encaustic. Combining my love of texture, color and surface manipulation. Pastels are often brought into the medium and used as accent and colorants in the final pieces.
