AP Faust

Artist bio

Adam P. (AP) Faust is an Atlanta based Creative and freelancing jack-of-all-trades. He holds a BFA from Guilford College where he completed a Sculpture Thesis in 2014 comprised of found object sculptures resulting from explorations in dream, memory, and the woods of Greensboro, North Carolina. Upon graduating, Faust turned to collage as a primary modality of art making. He found interest in continued finding and surrealist inspired explorations of the subconscious via dreams and automatism, as well as collage’s ability to change narratives using physical media.
He is the Associate Director, Arts and Entertainment at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, where he curates and installs exhibitions, creates gallery programming, teaches workshops, and produce two concert series a year.
Prior to Callanwolde, Faust ran his own creative services company Adam Good Job ATL where he completed odd jobs and handy work, as well as custom murals, signage, and art installation for small businesses and private clients. He continues to freelance various art and design related work.
In 2022 Faust was a member of the Paint Love’s Artist Cohort. Paint Love is a non profit organization that pairs artists with schools and other non profits to lead trauma informed and/or whole person focused arts and mindfulness activities for children of all ages. He often uses collage as the medium to facilitate creativity in these group sessions.
Faust’s expansive creative practice includes playing percussion and writing original songs to perform with fellow members of the band Brainsleeve. Cut out words are often influential to lyrical content, bridging the parallel visual and auditory practices. He is starting a permaculture garden and raising chickens with his wife and two dogs just barely south of Atlanta where they reside above his home studio.
